Char and I enjoyed an amazing birthday dinner at Church & State last week. We started with a huge dish of oysters in white wine sauce with a side of pommes frites. Next came salt cod mixed with pureed potatoes and deep fried until golden brown and two large marrow filled beef bones. The main courses, steak frites and a cassoulet with duck confit and pork belly came last, when we could barely stand the sight of food. We got halfway through them and called it a night. I cannot wait to visit again when the menu changes.
