A while back, I posted about this Parrot Canvas backpack that I had purchased from my friends over at The Woodlands. Its construction is simple yet sturdy, a large main storage compartment and a smaller front pocket complete with a heavy brass key hook. My only qualm with the bag was that whenever I lugged my laptop around, it wouldn’t stay flush against my back, either sliding down at an angle or tipping over at the top.
Using some scraps of Sugar Cane’s hand loomed denim, one of my favorite fabrics that we have at Self Edge, I made a sleeve to keep my laptop in place and sewed it into the backpack. I decided to show off the green selvedge line and added two small slots for pens. Problem solved.
