Back in 2008, Converse first introduced their motorcycle jacket inspired Chuck Taylor All Star in black, dubbing it the “Leather Jacket.” Noting the success of this new model, they released a fittingly red leather version under the (Product) Red label in 2009, and re-released it again in 2010. Towards the end of last year, pictures surfaced of a suede-out black leather version of the shoe, with very few changes otherwise, but now co-branded with the historic leather jacket label Schott. You can go through my archives as I’m sure I’ve posted pictures of all of these shoes sometime in the past.

Despite my love for Converse, and my weakness for shoes with zippers, I’ve held off on acquiring any of these previous models for one reason or another. I’m glad I waited.
